WINGS PAPILLONS
PAPILLON COLOR AND MARKINGS

Papillon's are rarely the same shade when they are an adult as they are as a puppy.  It takes time for the true color to reach its full beauty.

WHITE AND BLACK

The WHITE AND BLACK  Papillon is just that, black and white.  No other color is present.
Some times when the white and black dog is in the sunlight you will see glimpes of sable shadowing in the black.  This color will be AKC registered white/black.

CLASSIC TRI

A CLASSIC TRI  Papillon is white and black with the brown, tan, markings on the face. The body of a Classic Tri will always be white and black although it will have tan, brown markings under the tail, if there is any color present other then white in that area.. This color will be AKC registered as White, Black, Tan.

CLASSIC TRI

Another example of a Classic Tri.  This one has the white blaze and nose band.  Note that Tri's have the brown face markings that look like eye brows. This one would be registered AKC  white/black/tan

HOUND TRI

The Hound Tri may look like a Sable when viewing just the head.  It is the black and white body that claims it as a Tri   This picture shows the sable face with black markings of the beautiful Hound Tri. This color would be AKC registered as white/black/tan  Thank you Patty for allowing me to use this photo of your breath taking Penny .

WHITE AND SABLE

The WHITE AND SABLE Papillon can be any shade of sable from light red to dark mahogany.  The sable Papillon will have some black hairs present, or have black tips or black roots, on the face, ears or body.  This Papillon has the black face mask around the eyes,  as well as some black ear hairs.    When black is present  a red Papillon  will be a  considered a White and Sable.. This color will be registered with AKC as white/sable.

WHITE AND SABLE

This is another example of a white sable.  This one is a very red color, but has  black tips and roots in his coat and ears.  This color is registered with AKC as white/sable.

RED SABLE

This is an example of a Red Sable Papillon.  She has very little black on her face and no black on her body.  She is registered as a white/sable because she has some black hairs on her face other wise she would be a white red.

WHITE AND RED

The White and Red  Papillon is any shade of red with no black hairs present.  This is the closest  to a RED Papillon we have bred.  She is in fact a sable, because she has a few black hairs in her ears.

WHITE AND LEMON

This is a very light red color..she could be considered a LEMON color.  Lemons are light red or a yellow tan color.  Lemons are AKC registered  as white/lemon

WHITE AND LEMON
